[Read more…]Here at the San Jose Eye Institute, we are pleased to offer our patients the Light Adjustable Lenses from RxSight. There are two models, the LAL+ and the LAL. Both are used to replace the cataract during cataract surgery. They are unique in that the power of the lenses can be adjusted weeks after it is implanted, without the need for further surgery.
With a traditional lens, computer algorithms are used to predict the lens power that best matches the patient’s eye. Because of variabilities in healing from patient to patient, this prediction is not an exact science.

DURYSTA is a very small implant that will slowly release medication directly into the eye to lower eye pressure for glaucoma patients. It is the first and currently the only dissolvable implant for treatment of glaucoma.
Glaucoma is a medical condition where the pressure inside the eye is too high, leading to progressive optic nerve damage. Very commonly, eye drops are used to lower the eye pressure.
